Liebster Award!

Hi everyone! Last week I found out that The Crafty Asian nominated me for a Liebster Award! I really like reading her blog, and I feel quite honoured that she nominated me so thank you Crafty Asian! My first reaction was: Euh, what does this mean?! What do I have to do? But after some research I found out that the Liebster Award is a small recognition bloggers give to new bloggers to encourage them, and then pass it on. I love it! So, this is how it works:

  1. Thank and link back to the giver.
  2. Answer the giver’s questions.
  3. ‘Nominate’ five other blogs with fewer than 200 followers.
  4. Ask five questions for one’s nominees to answer.
  5. Post it all on one’s blog

So, next thing are the questions and my answers to them:

1. What do you do when you can’t sleep?

I usually read a book before I turn off the light, but I guess that is not yet the moment I decided that I can’t sleep. If that moment arrives, however, I start turning over and over, then try to lie down calmly, start turning over and over again and so on, until I find myself comfortable. If I am not falling asleep then, I start getting ideas for characters and costumes and things I want to make, which is quite stupid to do when you want to sleep. Somewhere around this moment there must be something that does put me to sleep, because the next thing I think about is the annoying alarm ringing next to my bed 🙂

2. If you had the ability to time travel, would you go to the past or future? Why?

This is a hard one! I think I want to do both. If I am able to time travel that can’t be a problem right! Since I keep myself busy with both fantasy and post-apocalyptic roleplay, I would like to see both. If I could travel back in time, I would like to see what life was like back then, in different ages and in different places. I think in the history classes at school we hear far too much about kings and queens and wars, but I would rather know more about what the REAL life was like, for the normal people. If I could travel to the future, I would really like to know what the world would look like after a big disaster. In the roleplay I participate in we have zombies, mutants and robots, everything that fits in the picture of a world in ruins. I am a bit curious if that would ever be possible, so a sneak peek in the future would be nice!

3. If you could meet any fictional character, who would you choose?

Granny Weatherwax from the discworld novels by Terry Pratchett. From the moment I read ‘Equal Rites’ and the Tiffany Aching books she was my favorite character right on. An old witch, who constantly test people around her and knows a lot about ‘headology’, which I guess is some kind of psychology. I think she is not the friendliest person in the universe of discworld, but surely one of the most interesting to have a cup of tea and some dry biscuits with!

4. Vampires or werewolves?

That would be werewolves. Persons who have read my blog might know I am making a costume for one of my characters, which is a werewolf. Besides that one, I also have a D&D character who is a werewolf. I like the myths surrounding werewolves, I think they are really interesting creatures. I do like vampires though, sometimes. I do like “Interview with the vampire” and in the TV series “Being human” I think they are really the bad guys, but in a nice way. The Twilight vampires however are stupid and glittery. Do not like.

5. Why do you blog?

Because I wanted to! For years I thought I had to do something with my skills in making clothes. I want to help and inspire people and hope they will try to make something of their own one day. Besides that, a friend of mine started a blog a few months before me, and that motivated me to make one of my dreams come true.

My nominations! I couldn’t come up with five blogs with less than 200 followers, most blogs I read allready have a lot of followers. I came up with these:

Fijn Lezen (which is in Dutch, but I still wanted to mention it)

SimoneWorks (who also makes nice costumes and stuff)

What’s in a treehouse (lots of nice knitting projects)

And now for my five questions I would like my nominees to answer! I stole some of the questions I had to answer, because I am really curious about what my nominees would answer:

1. Halloween is coming! What would your costume look like?

2. If you had the ability to time travel, would you go to the past or future? Why?

3. If you could meet any fictional character, who would you choose?

4. Which season of the year do you like most and why?

5. What is one of the coolest things you still want to do in your life?

I am really looking forward to your answers! I liked writing this post, I hope you answer the questions, looking forward to it!

  1. Hoi Janneke,

Ken je World of Darkness / Vampire the Masquerade?

    Groetjes!
